You had a good thing. I wish I could go back, but until I see the comment section and friendly format return...I will not. New version has too many ads and too much scrolling.

I dont turn on the television or get the newspaper anymore, so this is my way of staying up with the world. Does the job well!

I used to love this app until they started with all the ads and extra videos. I removed the app from my phone.

I agree that this would be better without having to scroll through repetitive video lists. Really hate the pop-up, blocking ads!

Too many adds and repetitious news

App pops full page adds on loads. Awful. Buttons are too smashed together that you cant help from opening an add in the browser. Not intuitive. Designed by insane people from 1999 who seem to have just got and learned a developer tool kit.

Love being informed on breaking news and current news. But the ads make the app just annoying and distracting. I am a huge news buff, but sadly I may be deleting this app. Its just not like it use to be.

The links to other stories are slow and Often crash this nickname thing is absurd nice way to keep people from submitting a review this my fourth try

Stopped watching your news last year. Too much advertising sandwiched between the "so-called" news. Check your ap just to get a thumbnail of whats happening.

The ads ruin this app. When you receive a notification and select it, youre taken to home page and not to the notification. Then of course you get the full screen ad. Moving on to a different Boston network.

Great app! Lots of information and easy to navigate!

Had to delete it. Great notification system but every article and every time you open the app you have a 15-30 second advertisement. So frustrating.

Too frustrating to use this. Poor design and organization, as a result I dont use it so am deleting it.

I hold off opening this AP because of the amount of ads. Very annoying. They become part of the story.

Using iPhone 7 with lastest update of iOS when I tap the "5" WCVB app I get a screen asking whether the app has permission to use my location for weather. (I use the "5" weather app many times a day). I indicate permission. -- and things are then frozen. Please fix it.

He app itself works great and is laid out nicely. The problem I have with it is that it has the most depressing notifications. Every time an alert pops up, its guaranteed someone was shot, killed in a rollover crash or mauled to death. Yes, I know I can turn off the notifications, but please consider adding a happy notification occasionally.

The pop ups and all these ads need to go immediately

I watch WCVB-TV news every morning, without fail. But if I miss part of a story or want to find out about something current, I used to go to the app and look it up. Especially if I wanted to share the story with someone else. But that has changed. What possible good is an app that has no search function? The mobile version is the same now. Granted the app is just feeding the mobile web content to an app interface (basically identical). By why no search option even on the mobile web site? It doesnt even have the option to view the full site. Back to the app, it has gone down in usability a great deal since the early versions, which is the opposite of how things are supposed to evolve.

This app is poorly written and designed. Oh you want to watch a 1 minute news video? Here: sit through a 15 second ad. Oh, the app is a piece of crap and only played 2 seconds of the ad before freezing so you started the video over again? Sit through another 15 second ad.
